When he tested positive for HIV in 1985, Peter Staley was a 24-year-old closeted gay bond trader. He joined ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) shortly after its founding in 1987. A year later, he left his job on Wall Street to become a full-time AIDS activist and a member of ACT UP’s Treatment & Data Committee. Continue reading
