Supportive Care and Support for the Caregiver

This meeting focused on improving the practice of HIV care by fostering discussions that emphasize the integration of supportive, symptomatic care and respect for the dignity of dying individuals. Participants included physicians, health care workers, counselors, researchers, people living with HIV, and community leaders.

The Enhancing Care Initiative of HAI, a multidisciplinary, multinational program, aims to enhance the care of people living with HIV/AIDS in resource-scarce countries. The Health Resources and Services Administration’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) provides leadership in HIV/AIDS care and training. Through the programs of the Ryan White CARE Act, HAB supports services to underserved individuals and communities disproportionately affected by HIV or AIDS in the United States.
